Armstrong Literary, named for legendary jazz musician and Queens resident Louis Armstrong, is a journal based in Queens: a borough with a multiplicity of cultures, languages, and experiences. We aim not to present a single unified voice, but to reflect the varied landscape of this community. Founded by students and faculty of the Queens College MFA in Creative Writing and Literary Translation, Armstrong Literary is interested in translation — on an emotional level as well as a linguistic one, for residents of Queens as well as for the wider reading audience.
